Referees


Are you interested in becoming a referee for Midnapore Hockey?


To become a hockey official for the hockey season you must:
 
be 13 years of age or older as of December 31 of the current hockey season
must attend and pass Clinic Level 1 offered by the  Central Zone Referees Committee

Game Assigning

Exhibition games will be scheduled by the Director of Referees.  Referees will be paid at the completion of each game(s)by the home team.

Tournament games will be scheduled by the Director of Referees.  Referees will paid by the tournament organizing committee as per their procedures.

All home games are scheduled for the South Fish Creek Arena

Community Referees will be assigned for the following categories for all HOME League Games

Novice:           All Levels (2 man system)

Atom:             All Levels (2 man system) occasionally the 3 man system will be assigned

Level 1 and 2:  1 Referee and 2 Linesman

PeeWee:          Assign 2 Linesman - CZRC assigns the Referee

Referee Responsibilities

Once the schedule has been set and distributed, Referees are responsible for replacing themselves by arranging for another referee or by swithching games with another referee. 

Each referee is responsible to make arrangment to get themselves to and from each game.

Each referee is responsible to ensure they are on time for scheduled games.

Referee Payment

Level 1 - $20.00 per game
Level 2 - $25.00 per game

Clinic and Equipment Reimbursement

1.     Contracted and qualified referees will receive reimbursement for the cost of their clinic and supplies necessary for their clinic after completion of 10 games worked for Midnapore Hockey Association
2.     Contracted and qualified referees can submit receipts (originals only) for up to the following amounts for equipment necessary for refereeing.

1. Complete the information required on the Referee Payment Form for each game completed and have a coach or official from the home team sign the form. If a signature cannot be obtained from the home team, state the reasons why the signature could not be obtained.
2. Submit the completed Referee Payment Form to Midnapore Hockey.
   
   Midnapore Hockey process Referee Payment Forms promptly and issues cheques twice monthly on the 1^st of each month and 15^th of each month. To ensure prompt payment, Midnapore Hockey recommends that all forms be dropped off at the SFC office before the 10^th of the month for payment of the 15^th of each month and invoices received by the 25^th of the month will be processed and paid on the 1^st of each month.
3. To ensure prompt payment, please ensure all Referee Payment Forms are properly completed and signed and submitted according to the above procedures.
